1. About these terms

These terms govern your use of this website and the Marguerite Route Compass subscription service, operated by Northrule Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (“we”, “us”, “our”). By using the site or the service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them.

2. The site & the service

This site is a guide to Denmark’s national scenic route, the Margueritruten. The Marguerite Route Compass is a subscription service that helps you stay on it: you send your location over WhatsApp and we reply with the nearest point on the route and a driving-directions link back to it.

We make reasonable efforts to keep route information accurate, but we cannot guarantee it is complete or up to date. The compass is a convenience aid, not a navigation, safety, or emergency service. Always use your own judgement and proper maps, follow local signage and road rules, and do not rely on it for safety-critical navigation. In an emergency, contact the local emergency services.

3. Subscription & payments

• The compass is £4.99 per month, billed via Stripe.
• The subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel.
• You can cancel at any time. When you cancel, the service continues until your next renewal date, after which no further charges are made.
• You must be at least 16 years old to subscribe.
• When you subscribe we give you a one-time unlock code that activates the compass on your WhatsApp number, keep it private. One subscription covers one number, and you may not share or resell it.

4. Acceptable use

You must not:

• Use the site or service for any unlawful purpose
• Share, resell, or transfer your subscription or unlock code
• Scrape or access the site or service by automated means, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to it or its infrastructure
• Send abusive, unlawful, or spam messages to our WhatsApp number

5. Intellectual property

The site design, code, branding and original content are owned by Northrule Ltd. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission. Route and geographic data is derived from publicly available sources, including OpenStreetMap contributors (Open Database Licence), and remains subject to their respective licences.

6. Third-party services

The service relies on third parties, WhatsApp (Meta), Stripe, and Google Maps, each governed by its own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their content, availability, or practices.

7. Limitation of liability

The site and service are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• We are not liable for any loss, delay, or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the route information or directions we provide
• Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim

Nothing in these terms excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, posting the new version here with a revised date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
