About
Vallensved Church
The Vallensved Church has a nave and tower of Roman origin. In the Late Gothic era, the tower was heightened with bricks, the choir extended and a northern arch, as well as a southern chapel were added. The windows of the church with the pointed arches and the remarkable supporting columns in the eastern portion originate from about 1870. The medieval wall around the church yard is composed of chalk stone and bricks. At the north wall of the nave there is a lovely Early Gothic choir arch crucifix. In the oldest part of the nave Late Gothic lime painting was discovered during World War II and subsequently restored. In order to arrange entry, contact the sexton during regular working hours
